Rammed earth is an earth construction technique recognized for its sustainability. Lime is used as a stabilizer, providing strength and durability to the structures. This article analyzed recent studies in the literature on the addition of lime to rammed earth, in order to understand the effectiveness of incorporating lime into different types of soil; in addition to mapping the proportions used, the different curing processes and the age of the samples tested. The method was the collection of documentary data. The result is that research into the incorporation of lime into rammed earth seeks methods comparable to the use of cement, but the chemical reactions involved between soil and lime are different.
