This work presented an approach to the relevance of sexual education in adolescence, with students in the 6th and 7th year of Elementary School, in the municipality of Tefé-AM. This research brought the possibility of knowing the development and behavior of students, based on classroom observation during lectures on the topic, as well as the barriers placed by some teachers in working on the topic in the classroom. The qualitative approach was used to analyze and interpret data collection, with techniques used to observe participants, interviews, and questionnaires for students, parents and teachers. The result found factors that interfere with the work with sexual education in the classroom, but it can be said that the search for innovative methods for pedagogical practices allowed demystifying the issue of sexuality in the school environment.
