This study addresses methodologies in teaching Portuguese, observing new methodologies for reflective and self-critical development. The objective of the work was to evaluate the efficiency of didactics as a facilitator in the teaching and learning process. It was also possible to analyze teaching practice that derives from innovative modalities, with the use of technology, identifying the advantages and disadvantages and mechanisms that tend to make teaching quality viable. This qualitative research was supported by specialized bibliographical review, as well as experience and observation activities. The result of the study showed that Portuguese language teaching must follow advances in the reading process, being an information and communication system beneficial to classroom practices. In this way, the improvement of the knowledge construction mechanism must be constant and never stagnant, so that the school space remains evolving, that is, seeking to meet society's expectations, observing its historical context.
