Abstract

This article aims to address the teaching-learning methods that facilitate literacy skills for 4th grade elementary school students in the city of Tefé/AM. The study revealed a reality of distance between the school and the reality experienced by children, which hinders the teaching-learning process. The studies also showed a lack of participation between pedagogical actions and the students' families. Thus, practicing literacy from the literacy perspective refers to teaching the alphabetic code combined with its social use on different occasions, where the importance of active methodologies practiced by teachers who presented classes with successful results regarding reading and writing becomes clear.
